SUMMARY: Under general direction of the Sanitary Engineer, maintains operating conditions of water system by cleaning, replacing machinery and all systems, performs laboratory analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
45% Assist in the operations of water systems, observes meters, records readings. chlorine tanks, and all buildings.
10% Maintains operating conditions of machinery (e.g., pull, repair, replace and install pumps, blowers, motors, etc.); trouble shoots electrical and plumbing systems. Performs the installation of Meter Interface Units (MIU) as required.
10% Maintains water distribution systems (e.g., replace or repair broken mains, etc.).
10% Performs routine laboratory analysis on water; makes all necessary adjustments to treatment process.
10% Fills out timesheets, log reports, daily readings, records of repairs needed and other reports required (e.g., EPA, state, federal, Sanitary Engineer, etc.).
5% Assists Chief Operator and Operator in Charge as needed. (On call 24 hours).
5% Acts in behalf of Chief Operator and Operator in Charge in their absences.
5% Performs water-related programs as required by the OEPA and TCSE department.
