We are looking for an Assistant Brand Manager who will join our Brand Marketing team in Marysville, Ohio.

This hybrid position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH. Not familiar with Columbus? Visit columbus.region.com

As Assistant Brand Manager you are a brand leader that executes the business unit strategy on a day-to-day basis to drive growth and profitability. As the general manager of the business, you are integrated into the daily operations to make decisions and drive action to deliver on the needs of the consumer. In this role, you are responsible for managing cross-functional teams and influencing the development and implementation of strategic projects.

Everyday you will:

* Lead your brand team and cross-functional partners through the execution of projects and development and implementation of strategic initiatives to deliver against business unit objectives

* Manage your portfolio of products through the product life cycle. This may include new product innovation, from ideation to development or from development to commercialization, go-to-market strategies, and ultimately to product maturity

* Analyze data, including sales results, customer insights, market research, and category trends, to uncover insights that inform strategies that grow your business and unlock new opportunities

To thrive in this role you must:

* Possess passion and curiosity to continuously seek out opportunities and ideas to strengthen your brand(s) and grow your business

* Have a bias for action to quickly adapt and execute on the needs of the business while being comfortable challenging the status quo

* Leverage first and third party consumer research to understand and articulate the voice of the consumer within the organization in order to satisfy their needs

* Be the expert on your portfolio of products, projects, and the consumer

* Be an effective communicator, collaborator and influencer working with cross-functional partners within sales, supply chain, research & development, finance, creative, shopper, and other marketing functions as well as external agency partners in order to achieve objectives

* Analyze data within Excel and Tableau in order to accurately describe marketplace dynamics, competition, promotions, and pricing and make recommendations for enhancing marketing plans

* Understand the ins and outs of a P&L in order to manipulate the marketing mix to align with strategies and maximize profitability

* Be energized when faced with ambiguity and comfortable with change

The ideal candidate will have:

* Bachelor's Degree in Marketing

* 1-3 years of experience in brand management at a consumer goods company

* Project management experience with proven ability to multitask and deliver against deadlines
