Position Summary
Local and OTR Positions Available! 
A Driver’s responsibilities are as follows: pick-up and delivery of freight, safety and maintenance, possible usage of a forklift to move inventory, and other duties assigned by management. The individual is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of company equipment. The individual is expected to maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the company and a favorable image of the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that deliveries and pick-ups are made in the most efficient, economical manner possible.
  • Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations.
  • Hook and unhook trailers from tractor – cranking lever to raise and lower landing gear
  • Inspect equipment for defects and operating condition before, during and after trips –complete a thorough pre and post trip.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient routing system.
  • Maintain clean equipment.
  • Professional representation of the company and trucking industry.
  • Reporting-Submitting daily trip reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure BOLs are signed and delivered
  • Safety and Maintenance – involves delivering orders safely, following regulations, and safely operation and maintaining equipment.
  • Observe OHSA, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Follow all company and regulatory agency safety policies.
  • Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license.
  • Report all accidents involving driver and/or equipment immediately upon occurrence.
  • Promptly report any delays, breakdowns, weather and/or traffic conditions, or other emergencies to dispatch.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and preform simple mathematical calculations with mental ability to handle receipts, road maps, road signs, maintain logs, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
  • Individual must have a respectable driving record.
  • Must meet or exceed the medical standard of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
  • Public Safety and Security- knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, and/or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. a. Knowledge on DOT regulations governing safe driving, HOS, inspection and maintenance.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 30 pounds
