OhioMeansJobs| Cleveland - Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Production Specialist for a Manufacturing Company in Cleveland

The Production Matting and Sandblasting Specialist is responsible for the customer and partner experience that consist of executing the engraving, lettering and positioning of the stencil on the stone in compliance with matting and sandblasting standards in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. This position collaborates across all departments to ensure the design and information is executed to exact precision and detail on each stone.

What you will be doing:

• Correctly positioning the stencil to engrave and letter the stone based on the customer's request with a high degree of craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Practices safe and secure material handling methods in accordance with product handling standards
• Recognize correct stone colors, sizes and irregularities and defects in material, surface finish and workmanship
• Verify sales orders for product, customer account and other information prior to sandblasting the stone
• Communicates with internal personnel in a professional and timely manner
• Practices safe and secure loading and unloading methods with inventory to utilize the maximum amount of plant space and avoid damages
• Reports errors found and documents information to a supervisor
• Completes all documentation neatly and accurately
• Able to learn and understand technology, particularly as it relates to identifying business processes
• Operates manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner to perform plant duties - i.e. exacto knives, box cutters, paint tools, air tools, overhead cranes and sandblasting machines
• Attention to detail with custom services as it relates to painting by hand as needed, inlay gold leaf and recessed photos, etc.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment Other duties as assigned

What will make you successful:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous machine shop or custom manufacturing experience preferred
• Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills
• Basic reading and comprehension skills
• Basic numerical reasoning and measurement skills
• Ability to complete paperwork online and offline in an accurate, neat and efficient manner
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift stone weighing approximately 501bs. as needed

Work Environment:

Retail, manufacturing environment indoors in ambient temperature and humid conditions based out of the Cleveland Location
