Job Title: Production Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Operations

Summary

The Machine Shop & Programming Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the FEC Machine Shop and Programming Team. This position will need to provide a range of expertise in growing and supporting the manufacturing output resulting from forecast market growth. The Supervisor will oversee the implementation of LEAN initiatives in the plant and will play a key role in the continued process improvement in support of FEC's ISO 9001:2015 certified QMS.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the FEC Machine Shop and supervise production and programming staff, including hiring, training, and annual talent reviews.
  • Ensure product specifications are clearly communicated and achieved and provide technical assistance to the production team.
  • Working with Program Managers to ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are met.
  • Monitor work plans and schedules for adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards.
  • Update and maintain necessary records/documents including the defined DLA board, ensuring items are escalated as appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing feedback on production efficiency as part of continuous process improvement.
  • Oversee implementation of LEAN initiatives.
  • Immediately address issues surrounding efficiency and quality control.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve problems, such as Shipping, Receiving, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job.
  • Work with QC to drive root cause and corrective actions for various part related manufacturing issues


Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing plant.
  • Basic understanding of welding, machining, CNC Programming and assembly processes is required.
  • Solid understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with an ERP system is preferred.
  • A basic understanding of capacity planning and management, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP), work scheduling techniques and inventory management.
  • A basic understanding of LEAN production management and HSE.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing-related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and/or contractors at all levels.
  • Excellent management and leadership abilities.
  • Must be self-motivated individual
  • This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
