Job Description

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

* Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
* Weigh and purchase inbound scrap, obtaining required information from customers for all transactions. Complete purchasing and shipping documents.
* Control traffic patterns in yard.
* Perform general office administration duties.
* Serve as a back-up cashier, greeter and possibly other positions as needed.
* Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other teammates as needed.
* Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
* Must be able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
* Must be able to handle multiple priorities while providing a high level of support in a fast-paced environment.
* Must have excellent customer service, written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.
* Must have the willingness to go the extra mile learning the scrap metal recycling industry.
* Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
* Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel and Word and the ability to learn in house systems.
* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
* Flexible to work overtime in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
