Alkermes seeks Sr. Scientist - Solid-State/Material Characterization in Wilmington, OH. Subject matter expert on solid-state and material characterization competencies and technical lead on projects supporting late-stage product understanding and life-cycle enhancements, including manage resources/testing strategies; lead root cause and corrective action analysis; lead troubleshooting anomalies/failure analysis investigations; formulate/articulate goals for solid-state and material characterization; identify techniques to improve characterization of products, process intermediates, and other materials; manage solid-state and material characterization strategy; evaluate/develop new characterization methodologies; design/perform experimental studies; work with other scientists/engineers to enhance commercial product/process control; support Regulatory post approval updates; write technical data summaries.

Reqs: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or equiv; 2 yrs exp in solid state/material characterization in pharmaceutical/biotech industry; 2 yrs demonstrating successful application of state-of-art analytical techniques supporting solid-state (physical) characterization, solid form screens, and crystallization technology development, 2 yrs with spectroscopic techniques XRPD, IR and Raman; 2 yrs with thermal analysis technologies DSC, TGA and DVS; 2 yrs with particle characterization technologies optical microscopy, SEM and particle size analysis; and 2 yrs working with cGMP and global pharmaceutical regulations (exp can be gained concurrently).
