We are seeking an ultimate Design Engineer that enjoys working in a progressive, team-based environment and is committed to making a positive impact with our Engineering team. This is a great mix between CAD design and hands-on engineering.

Position responsibilities:


Design Class A parts using SolidWorks surface modeling.
Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks solid modeling.
Participate in activities to verify the accuracy of designs, while documenting each process.
Perform redesigns and design changes on existing products to improve manufacturability, reduce warranty, or reduce costs.
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications within file management software.
Create, update, and ensure accuracy of BOMs within ERP software.
Initiate and validate ECOs as they relate to product improvements and/or modifications.
Define, oversee, and help perform testing and auditing of new products and product modifications.
Provide support to product manufacturing engineering and manufacturing during production release of a new product.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education and Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
3+ years of experience in mechanical product design requ 5+ years preferred.
3D CAD mechanical design experience (SolidWorks preferred).
3D CAD surface design experience (SolidWorks preferred).
Project management experience with multiple projects.
Experience with multiple materials and processes such as injection molding, rubber extrusion, metal stamping, mechanical assembly, and others.

Travel


Occasional travel is required, especially between local ARE facilities (within a 15-mile radius of one another).
