Job Description: MAC Trailer has full-time Welder (First Shift / Third Shift) positions at its Trailer / Service location at 14599 Commerce St. in Alliance, OH.

 

Our Welder position utilizes and implements acquired welding knowledge, experience and skill to weld aluminum and steel material and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while welding and performing other related task assignments
  • Perform daily custom build fit/up and welding assignments
  • Review specification documentation and information related to assignments to ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and MAC Trailer's quality standards
  • Keep work area clean and organized during and at the end of the shift
  • Organize and restock parts and materials
  • Communicate with supervisors/managers issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affect safety and the productive completion of quality products and schedule of products
  • Perform assignment of work to contribute to material, parts and products produced according to MAC’s quality and quantity standards while supporting a safe work environment
  • Any other duties assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully perform basic math and measurement functions

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience or knowledge in tractor trailer building is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing-related field is preferred
  • Mechanical experience is preferred
  • Mechanical proficiency is necessary
  • Proficiency in steel and aluminum MIG welding is necessary
  • Must pass company-approved weld test

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use close vision
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
  • Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions
  • Ability to push, pull and lift various materials including aluminum, steel and parts
  • Ability to work from a ladder and heights
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

 

Position Tiers:

  • Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. Employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.
  • Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.
  • Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and is responsible for training new employees in the department.

Details: Full time. First Shift (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Monday through Friday), Third Shift (8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. - Monday through Thursday). Mandatory overtime. 40-50 hours/week. $20.00 to $26.75/hour (based on experience). Shift differential. Attendance bonus. Referral bonus.

 

Qualifications: Must have at least 1 year of experience.

 

Driver’s License Requirement(s): Must Have Valid Driver’s License.
