Job Description

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by monitoring the premises and personnel. This position works a four day on, four day off shift and will be working 12:00 am -10:00 am shift weekdays and 12:00am - 10:00 am shift on weekends.

Essential Functions*

Verify access authorization and log appropriate information

Provide mail service

Enforce security policy

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)

Greet visitors and direct to appropriate locations

Routine patrols to check buildings, grounds, and facilities

Provide security for special events

Conduct safety surveys

Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts

Qualifications

High school diploma is required

Basic computer skills

Valid state DMV issued or valid foreign country issued driver’s license

No criminal record

Excellent communication skills

Legible handwriting

Working conditions

May be exposed to temperature below 0 degrees and above 95 degrees

May be exposed to inclement weather

May be required to work alone in an isolated environment for extended periods during evening and nighttime conditions

Physical requirements

Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds

Capable of positioning one’s self into bending, stretching, climbing, or awkward positions

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

Ability to verbally communicate with customers and co-workers which may include the use of radios

Ability to remain attentive and alert while working alone for 6-10 hours at a time

Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely on and off of TRC property
