Job Description

The Smart Grid Key Account Manager will be responsible for growing the sales at Smart Grid key accounts for Standex Electronics Magnetics globally. You will promote a positive image of Standex Electronics to internal stakeholders, customers, and the industry while providing leadership in constantly improving Standex Electronics customer-based cultures.

Client relationships


Develop strong long-term relationships with key account top managers.

Account strategy and planning


Develops a regular cadence of key account key reviews with all direct reports.
Ensures internal teams collaborate to meet all key account objectives and priorities.
Assists with identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell Standex Electronics capabilities.

Key account advocacy


Serves as the voice of the key account to top management within the entire organization.

Revenue growth and retention


Helps to identify opportunities to expand sales at existing accounts.
Develops regular reviews for all key account managers to report on key account health.
Assists in negotiating key contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize profitability while maintaining key account satisfaction.

Market and competitor analysis

Actively stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics and competitor activity. Report to top management on all this feedback.



Reporting and analysis


Generate regular summary reports on all significant key account activities and outcomes.
Track bookings, billings, core sales retention rates and all new business opportunity funnel metrics to key stakeholders on a regular cadence.


Performs other duties and oversees projects/assignments as directed by the Sales Director, Key Accounts, or his designee.

What You'll Bring


Requires a BS degree, or equivalent, in a technical or business-related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the Smart Grid industry
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
