How You'll Perform the Role

The QEHS Manager will plan, implement and supervise quality, food safety, employee safety and environmental initiatives and act as an important member of the organization's QA and EHS teams, as well as the packaging plant management team. Considers food safety and consumer safety while preforming work. Participates in GMP and food safety training. Follows GMP policy. Reports all food safety concerns with urgency. The QEHS Manager is the SQF Practitioner for the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Analyze data and complete environmental reports
Conduct weekly EHS compliance audits, track findings and follow-up actions. Provide feedback to Plant Manager and Regional EHS Manager.
Administer monthly EHS training by working with the Plant Manager and supervisors to schedule employees for training, confirm training occurred and send a delinquency notice (monthly) if training is missed.
Conduct and refresh Job Hazard Analysis
Conduct accident investigations and maintain OSHA log
Review plant documentation for completeness, perform quality control checks as defined
Review certificates of conformance from suppliers
Participate in raw material testing for conformance process
Be knowledgeable in BPC food safety programs, SQF, HACCP and GMP.
Train plant management and floor employees in food safety program
Ensure environmental testing is performed on time, confirm results are within specification
Participate and be the plant spokesperson during customer audits and third party audits of the food safety program
Perform mock recalls to plan

What We Need From You


Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Additional education is preferred.
5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Capable of working independently with a high level of integrity and commitment to a zero defect environment
Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge of EHS Regulations
Experience with quality systems such as ISO, TQM, or Six Sigma.
Experience using Continuous Improvement and Lean concepts.
Experience with regulatory systems, GMP, HACCP food safety environment is a plus.
Knowledge and ability to establish internal audit system and ensure external audit compliance.
Demonstrated problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects and work as needed to meet timelines and achieve goals.
