Laboratory Analytical Services Purpose: Help our valued partners maintain reliable
electrical systems by accurately handling and analyzing their insulating liquids safely, timely, and cost effectively while maintaining a work environment that strives to be a Good Place
 
Position Purpose: To support quality-related initiatives, and ensure quality of testing, data, processes, and systems throughout the department with a concentration on ISO 17025. This function gathers and analyzes important quality data, helps manage and maintains the quality system, and routinely works across multiple teams on root cause analysis and risk analysis to secure compliance to ISO and quality-related requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and analyzes available QC information.
  • Manages documentation for the quality system
  • Creates, edits and maintains SOPs
  • Identifies and implements improvements to existing QC and quality-related processes and tools
  • Conducts root cause and risks analyses (i.e. 5-whys, fishbone, FMEA ec…)
  • Validates instrumentation testing and reporting.
  • Validates chemicals and key supplies and releases them to the lab
  • Presents data analysis results to management
  • Works with partner labs and vendors on quality and ISO-related issues while representing the
  • SDMyers Charter and Good Place Holdings Behavioral Values
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology or related field or the equivalent experience in
    quality and/or laboratory environment.
  • At least 2-3 years of prior related laboratory, quality, or similar experience.
  • Experience using basic math and statistics to analyze data.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Mastery of Office applications and comfortable working in the software as a primary skill for
    this position.
  • Ability to compile/aggregate data, analyze data to make conclusions, and present cohesively to
    management and other technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to read technical information (e.g. ASTM methods) and understand the content
    sufficiently as to write/revise SOPs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work across departments on identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly about complex information to informed and uninformed
    audiences.
  • Highly organized with ability to self-manage and prioritize workload.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025:2017

Work Conditions:
  • The work for this position is conducted indoors, in a conventional office and laboratory environment, in an office or cubicle workstation, with low noise.
  • Hybrid-work eligible
 
Physical Demands:
While working, the ability to:
  • perform work at workstation and/or workbench for extended periods of time, typically at least
    8 hours a day, sometimes more or less, when required;
  • occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs;
  • regularly hear, see, and talk; and
  • occasionally stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb throughout the day.
