The Plant Manager position is responsible for leading all aspects of site management and continuous improvement at the Ravenna manufacturing location. In support of the business strategy, the incumbent will deliver on the plant's operational goals and objectives and is responsible for managing the operations to achieve long and short term business objectives including EHS, growth, profitability, capital investment, cost reduction, quality and other operational objectives. Quality, purchasing, production and facility maintenance will report directly to the Plant Manager. The Plant Manager will lead and develop a dynamic workforce while increasing the meaningful contribution or our site and our employees.

The incumbent for this position must have a demonstrated history of and act in accordance with Saint-Gobain's core competencies. The core competencies include leadership working in a diverse culture, customer intimacy, agility and flexibility, must be a self-starter and act with a sense of urgency. The Plant Manager is responsible for coaching employees for accountability, setting clear expectations on objectives that are attainable while encouraging the site to stretch itself beyond expectations.

The facility is among the world's leading producer of engineered, high-performance aerospace products, serving the major aircraft and aerospace system manufactures. The site specifically manufactures composite plastic for multiple applications.

Essential functions include:


Provides strong direction with all departments to ensure policies and systems being used are efficient, effective, and in concert with business goals and philosophies. Coordinate production flow throughout the factory and adjusts capacities in conjunction with demand. Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of products and/or services. Establishes strategic direction, department objectives, and provides leadership to achieve results with all responsible functions.

Develop and implement a long term manufacturing plan and annual operating budget that is consistent with and supports the strategic plan of the business. Supports the development of the 5 year business plan including capital projects to support new products, drive efficiency and effectiveness as well as human resources initiatives to drive employee commitment and results.

Lead and develop a strong site team that actively demonstrates their support and drives accountability of our global values, including cultivating customer intimacy, acting as an entrepreneur, innovation, agility and building an open and engaging culture. Demonstrate enthusiasm to create an environment where these values are practiced daily throughout the plant. Identify opportunities to develop and build effective and highly responsible teams of people.

Integration of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) programs and development of quality systems to support the reduction of waste and drive the organization to zero defects.

Implementation of digital/automated business processes to streamline communications across the departments and other manufacturing sites.


Is this job for you ?




Bachelor's degree Business, Industrial Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations or other related field
7+ years' experience in a Manufacturing Environment with knowledge and understanding of materials; scheduling; quality; manufacturing engineering; and operations functions
5+ years experience in a supervisory/management level role with demonstrated leadership skills .
Budgeting, Planning, Project Management - Excellent analytical skills, communications skills, and interpersonal skills
Must have strong computer skills in a Windows environment, including Excel, Access and Microsoft Word
Demonstrated understanding of LEAN manufacturing concept
Knowledge of quality standards AS9100 and NADCAP is preferred.
