Production Supervisor - US - Dayton, OH

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

The Build (Responsibilities)

* Leads and directs day-to-day responsibilities of work, scheduling, quality, safety for all 2nd and third shift employees. Interfacing with other supervisors and managers as needed to meet the production schedule; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

* Liaison between the needs of the production employees and senior leadership team. Including driving a safety culture, increasing accountability and training, and innovation and change.

* Effectively navigate employee relation issues, working with union representatives and human resources.

* Provide employee coaching and development, resolve employee issues and grievances through problem resolution, track absenteeism and timekeeping.

* Develop and implement manufacturing methods, quality standards, and perform cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

* Develops and maintains long range strategies inclusive of capital selection, justification and acquisitions.

* Identifies and directs implementation of improvement opportunities by securing relevant information, asking effective questions, and developing solutions. Advocates for change and growth.

* Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays.

* Interact with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development and improvement.

* Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

* Lead and direct departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.

* Other duties as assigned.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

* Bachelor's degree preferred or In lieu of 8-10 years of relative experience required

* 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

* Leadership experience required including performance management and time management

* Strong problem solving/analysis skills required

* Results driven mindset required, with the ability to influence innovation and change

* Strong communication skills

* Flexibility

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
