ABOUT THE JOB:

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Quality Engineer (Processing) based in our Minster, Ohio yogurt manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively investigating any yeast/microorganism hits within the product, leading the processing team's quality initiatives (e.g., first time right), lead Hi Low performance, manage the performance of CCP, OPRP, and PRP failures, attend various quality meetings, perform root-cause analyses, collaborate with several plant departments, and provide oversight/quality-related perspective during special projects (e.g., new product launches, initiatives, etc.).

Additionally, you will be responsible for several audit-related duties (e.g., perform quality audits, accompany WAFO, provide support for safety, non-GMO Audits, FSMA Audit, GMP Audit, and annual Glass Audit, and develop standards, and maintain documents for all audits).

Other responsibilities require stamina and endurance (e.g., standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc.) for long hours, and the availability to work flexible hours (e.g., late nights and weekends).

Specific Job Duties & Tasks:

Lead RCA problem-solving initiatives, delve into root cases of for unanticipated issues, and discuss RCAs with plant leadership team.
Modify Casei to determine root cause (e.g., document communication and final decisions implemented by processing personnel).
Effectively communicate with several plant departments (e.g., quality, processing, packaging, engineering, maintenance, etc.) to ensure proper functioning during the production process.
Write an incident report including the appraisal of events leading to unforeseen problems, investigation of potential determinants (e.g., 5 whys), and construction of a timeline outlining the sequence of events.
Develop action plan logs (e.g., assign actions to respective personnel), well-thought-out resolutions, revised standards, and prevention plans for issues.
Attend regular meetings regarding various topics (e.g., microorganisms, the inception of new ideas, OE, MIF, etc.)
Ensure the quality of a product is not jeopardized during new product launches.
Provide sound judgment/direction through risk assessment with uncertain, in-process products in order to acquire Superiority "A" quality products.
Provide training concerning quality and food safety standards as well as quality KPI's for operators/operational teams.
Serve as a liaison between State Regulatory Agency (ODA) and management of Appendix N Antibiotics
Audit and ensure Raw Milk Receiving is compliant for milk component, micro and all incoming quality test, assess risk on any nonconformance.
Serve as Lead of Hi-Low problem-solving.
Adhere to product and processing specifications.
Report food safety PM conformance
Ensure processing and packaging PM and food safety PM are in compliance with safety standards
Review daily QAR (e.g., emphasize NCs, etc.) and compare specifics to system functions
Oversee the proper maintenance of CILT performance by mechanical personnel and operators.
Perform all other assigned tasks/duties.

ABOUT YOU:

(please consider everything below as required, except where noted as preferred)

You have a bachelors degree in chemical or environmental engineering, food science, biology, chemistry, or some relevant science, required. A professional license/certificate such as ISO 22000 food safety certification is preferred.
You have knowledge of the following:
Flow and value knowledge
Food Safety
Continuous Improvement Methodologies (including experience with CI)
Computer literacy and software navigation
Microsoft Office, MiniTab, DANIMS
Statistical processing control
Project management (preferred)
Dairy processing experience (preferred)
Total Preventative Maintenance (preferred)

You have exceptional verbal/written communication skills, are organized, keen awareness to detail, and have effective time management and prioritization skills, and a solid work ethic.
You have strong leadership and decision-making skills and have effective problem solving and root cause analysis skills, and ability to escalate a problem through to completion.
You are flexible, adaptable, persistent and resilient, proactive and have ability to stay calm under stressful situations.
You have ability to support a 24/7 production environment as business needs dictate. Work schedules could include day or night shift schedules, and occasional weekends as business needs dictate.
