Summary

The Senior Financial Accountant-GL is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and analyzing supporting schedules for the preparation of monthly financial statements. The Senior Financial Accountant-GL manages and prioritizes these responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Accountant-GL will possess competency in the areas listed below in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Maintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling in addition to resolving discrepancies
Advises all departments regarding accounting procedural changes to ensure accuracy and consistency
Prepares and maintains standard adjusting and eliminating journal entries with related support and inputs entries into Vista
Communicates effectively with impacted departments to advise of necessary account corrections
Works with Controller in the fulfillment of preliminary year-end information requests from external auditors
Prepares and provides schedules and other required documents for information as necessary
Provides support to Payroll and Tax Departments
Ensures a Safe Work Environment
Participates in Training/Certifications

Requirements


Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from four-year college or university; and 5 years of related experience or equivalentcombination of education and experience
Working knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
Vista experience preferred

Ability to apply mathematical knowledge to create complex formulas
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and co-workers
Ability to resolve issues in a timely, accurate, and professional manner in a team-oriented environment
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret information provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment
Ability to effectively use time-management skills to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines
