JobSummary:

Hydro North American is dedicated to working together with customers to develop solutions that help meet their needs. The product development team is a diverse group of engineers and designers working to drive the use of aluminum extrusions in North America through automation, new product development, product and system design, design for manufacturability, metallurgy, customer education and new program launch. As a result of the rapidly growing demand for aluminum in today's market, Hydro is seeking to provide a greater focus on automation in their manufacturing processes. In this role you will support the team by providing insight on intelligent systems and industrial controls, as well as helping in the development of controls processes and procedures for our plant teams.

This position will provide you with the opportunity to use your engineering skills to drive new automation projects, expand your knowledge of aluminum design and industrial manufacturing processes, and work with colleagues in a wide variety of disciplines, from manufacturing engineers to market analysts. This person will work closely with our plants manufacturing teams as well as working closely with integrators, robotic vendors, and other industrial suppliers.

Salary Range: $106,000-$115,000

Required Education/Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of Controls/Mechatronics experience with robotics background.

B.S. in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Familiarity with metals (aluminium preferred) and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of integration tools, PLC's, robotics, industrial communication, and programming. Machine vision focusing on vision measurement strongly desirable.

Job Responsibilities:

Put the safety of yourself and the team around you first

Oversee the work of suppliers and integrators in accordance with project requirements

Design Automation systems for industrial tasks

Review advanced electronic control systems

Developing and implementing process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.

Work with Product Development teams on process concepts, equipment requirements, and new technologies

Upgrade existing equipment with control functions

Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.

Conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new equipment

Consult with suppliers in determining product specifications, arranging equipment, parts, or materials, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
