Position Overview

Operates manufacturing equipment within a production facility. The person in this position will support our assembly plants by utilizing the knowledge and skills necessary to program and operate the sheet metal fabrication equipment in the shop. This person will be knowledgeable in the areas of sheet metal fabrication processes, equipment and measuring tools.


Key Responsibilities




Proficient in all areas of the build and production processes.
Participates in process improvement activities or projects.
May coach less experienced team members.
Interprets and applies Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) pertaining to standard product and initial new product builds.
Adheres to safety guidelines.
Fulfill requests submitted by our customers
Fabrication of sheet metal parts including programming, machine operation, tooling selection, etc.
Metrology / inspection work
Record quality measurements into the system to ensure good quality
Welding (MIG, TIG, and Spot)
CNC stud welding machine operation
Panel bending machine operation
Update order status using the order tracking system
Select and apply proper tooling for the specific manufacturing processes you may be working with
Setup and operate equipment used to fulfill customer requests

Qualifications (desired but not required)


Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
Ability to calculate maximum and minimum dimensions using the tolerance for those dimensions
Experience or knowledge about sheet metal fabrication equipment like punching machines, laser cutting machines, bending machines (press brakes), fastener insertion machines, spotwelding, MIG/TIG welding, sanding, grinding, cnc programming, powder coat or liquid painting, digital calipers for measuring the dimensions of parts, protractors for measuring angles, etc.
Ability to read blueprints for sheet metal parts
Good written and verbal communication skills.
A positive attitude with a focus on customer service
Creativity and ability to collaborate with others


Required Qualifications



High School Diploma or GED required.
May require technical certification of Associate Degree.
Generally, 7+ years' experience in area of responsibility.
