The Foundation Intern is responsible for performing a wide variety of complex tasks for the Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation staff. Works with highly confidential information and under minimal supervision and may work for multiple areas and/or supervisors.

Responsibilities




PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Job tasks will be extremely varied and will include assisting with events and projects both in the hospital and out in the community. May include traveling to businesses or meetings within the central Ohio area. Access to reliable transportation is essential.

2. Assists with Special Events including developing solicitation mailings and other creative materials, tracking corporate and individual sponsorships, tracking expenses, working with volunteers and attending the events.

3. Place, receive and screen telephone calls; greet visitors; and coordinate follow-up activities from these efforts as needed.

4. Plan, research, organize, analyze and complete special projects within specific department/division or facility as a whole.

5. Participate in documentation processes, obtaining, compiling, maintaining and issuing necessary records, reports, data or lists, ensuring accuracy of content and correct distribution.

6. Assist with manual event preparation such as stuffing envelopes and packets.

7. Physically carry and move boxes and event supplies, and assist in setting up for various special events. Able to work evening and weekend events as directed.

8. Maintain confidentiality for all donor and volunteer records.

9. Other duties as assigned


Qualifications




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Completed sophomore year in College or University
2. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills a must
3. Strong computer skills. Experience with the Internet and Microsoft office package including WORD, EXCEL and ACCESS preferred.
4. Detail oriented. Must be able to proofread own work.
5. Flexible - able to work on multiple projects out of multiple locations at the same time.
6. Mature and discreet. Able to handle confidential material.
7. Able to work with minimum supervision.
8. Able to take direction from two supervisors
9. Self-confident hard-worker. Able to return phone calls made to others, get input on projects from people at all levels in the organization, seek information when needed and work under a deadline.
10. Professional attitude and appearance.
11. Business, event planning,fundraising knowledge a plus.
