POSITION DESCRIPTION/

Tangram Flex’s Business Development Manager supports long-range strategy development, business development and capture, and proposal support in the field of reconfigurable autonomous aircraft, modeling and simulation, electronic warfare, cyber, and other relevant domains. The candidate will be expected to partner closely with other Tangram Flex team members to plan, support, and execute a winning proposal strategy for new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will implement and execute the capture strategy while ensuring the offering reflects what matters to the customer. The Tangram environment is fast-paced with shifting priorities and requires the candidate to be highly flexible and extremely organized to ensure that proposal timelines are met. The  Business Development Manager closely monitors the status of the opportunity and recognizes any changes based on information from the customer, teaming partners, competitive analysis, or the formal solicitation that may affect the ability or strategy to bid on the effort


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/

Primary Responsibilities:

        Mature and lead Tangram Flex’s Business Development, Capture, and Proposal resources, processes and systems to define and execute multi-million-dollar GovCon pipeline

        Execute business development strategies/plans for achieving Tangram Flex’s growth and profitability goals, all while remaining aligned with the company's overall strategic goals, objectives, mission, and values

        Lead growth initiatives in Tangram Flex’s core market areas including software interoperability, integration, and assurance

        Develop and implement annual business development tactical plans (that are developed in accordance with long-range strategic goals and objectives)

        Develop and execute capture and win strategies including business/technical solutions for pursuits

        Identify resources required to pursue a bid, and guide bid & proposal activities 

        Establish customer profiles—including customer needs/issues/preferences/ biases 

        Regularly interact with all levels of management, staff, and customers 

        Prepare, build, and communicate pipeline plans

        Prepare and lead Gate Reviews and Lessons Learned sessions


DESIRED SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES/

Required:

        Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields

        Ability to obtain Government Secret Clearance

        5+ years of successful growth experience in related federal government business development environments

        Proven experience demonstrating creativity and ingenuity in developing successful marketing and proposal strategies 

        Extensive working knowledge of federal government products and services contracting environment, along with a pulse on what is forthcoming 

        Deep customer relationships and requisite customer intimacy across the DoD (Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Programs, Intel) 

        Ability to generate leads and build business in a competitive defense market 

        Entrepreneurial, dynamic, and growth-oriented philosophy within a corporate culture of teamwork and integrity 

        Excellent interpersonal, presentation and client-facing communication skills, both practiced and impromptu

        Budget-focused mindset for meeting corporate and business development goals and objectives in an effective and efficient manner

        A deep understanding of government contract pricing strategies 

        Strong verbal/written communication skills, proactive with superior attention to details

        Ability to travel on an as-needed basis for customer, prospective, and industry events - (Estimated 30% travel)

Preferred:

        Current Government Secret Clearance

        Understanding of the Shipley methodology
